The Threadripper Pro 5965WX Workstation is designed for professionals who need access to the AMD Threadripper Pro platform without the complexity or cost of large GPUs. It provides a powerful foundation for CPU‑intensive workloads, memory‑heavy applications and professional environments that demand reliability, expansion and long‑term scalability.
Built and tested in the UK by Punch Technology, every system comes with a 3-year parts and labour warranty and next‑day delivery to UK mainland addresses, backed by over 30 years of workstation building experience and our status as an AMD Elite System Builder.
The system is equipped with a fast 1TB NVMe SSD, offering responsive boot times, rapid application loading and ample space for professional software, datasets and project files. Additional storage expansion is available via extra M.2 and SATA ports, allowing the system to grow as workload requirements increase.
Graphics duties are handled by the NVIDIA T400 professional GPU, providing certified drivers, stable multi‑display support across three screens and low power operation. This makes the system ideal for CAD, engineering, software development and general workstation use, while leaving six free PCIe Gen 4 x16 slots open for future GPU upgrades should requirements change.
Housed in the Fractal Design Meshify 3 Black Solid case, the workstation balances high airflow with a compact, lighter chassis that is easier to transport and deploy than larger multi‑GPU enclosures. The solid side panel and understated design make it well suited to studio, office and engineering environments.
Connectivity is firmly workstation‑focused, with dual 10Gb Ethernet built directly into the motherboard — a deliberate wired-only configuration that delivers maximum stability and bandwidth for shared storage, servers and virtualised environments. The WRX80 platform also delivers extensive PCIe expansion for future GPUs, networking or storage controllers.
Ideal for:
- Software engineering and development
- CAD and 3D modelling
- Running virtual machines
- Scientific research and data analysis
- Engineering simulation
- Multi-application professional workstations
- Linux-based workflows
This system is best suited to professionals who want an accessible entry into the Threadripper Pro ecosystem, with the flexibility to scale performance and expansion over time as workloads evolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this system designed for?
This workstation is ideal for professionals who require high CPU core counts, large memory capacity and workstation‑class reliability — such as engineers, developers, researchers and organisations deploying virtual machines — without the additional cost of high-end GPU hardware.
Is this suitable for GPU rendering or AI workloads?
This system is not designed as a GPU compute workstation out of the box. The included NVIDIA T400 is a professional display and CAD GPU rather than a compute card. However, the WRX80 platform provides six free PCIe Gen 4 x16 slots, allowing you to add one or more compute GPUs if your workload requirements change in the future.
Why use DDR4 instead of DDR5?
The WRX80 platform uses DDR4 RDIMM memory, offering lower cost, proven stability and ECC support. For CPU‑focused workloads such as simulation, engineering software and virtual machines, this provides excellent performance and scalability up to 1TB of total system memory.
Can I expand memory and storage later?
Yes. The system supports up to 1TB of memory across eight DIMM slots, and additional M.2 and SATA storage bays are available for expansion. Contact our team to discuss upgrade options.
Is Linux supported?
Yes. This workstation is well suited to Linux‑based professional and development workloads. Alternative operating systems are available on request — please contact us before ordering.
What does the warranty cover?
This system is covered by a 3-year parts and labour Return to Base (RTB) warranty. In the event of a component failure, you return the system to Punch Technology and we repair or replace the faulty parts and return it to you at no additional cost. Our team is also available for ongoing technical support throughout the warranty period.
