Triple RTX 5090 Rendering Workstation – Built in the UK

The Threadripper 9000 Triple RTX 5090 Rendering / AI Workstation is a flagship triple RTX 5090 rendering workstation for GPU rendering, 3D visualisation and local AI work.

This triple RTX 5090 rendering workstation pairs a 24 core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X with three NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 32GB graphics cards and 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory. That gives GPU-heavy applications such as V-Ray, 3ds Max and Blender a very large amount of graphics and system resource to work with. It is a configurable PC, so you can tune the parts in the configurator to suit your renderer and your scenes. If your rendering application is GPU focused, you can configure the CPU down to one of the lower cost models.

The Threadripper 9000 Triple RTX 5090 Rendering / AI Workstation is built on an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X with 24 cores and 48 threads, fitted to a Gigabyte TRX50 AI TOP-2B motherboard. It has three NVIDIA RTX 5090 32GB graphics cards, 256GB of DDR5 ECC RDIMM memory at 5600MHz and a 2TB WD Black SN7100 NVMe SSD. It is supplied without an operating system, and every system carries a 3-year parts and labour warranty.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X processor

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X has 24 cores and 48 threads, with a 4.2GHz base clock, a 5.4GHz maximum turbo clock and 128MB of L3 cache. It uses the sTR5 socket and the AMD TRX50 chipset. That many cores is useful for CPU rendering, scene preparation, simulation and the background tasks that surround a rendering job, and it gives the three graphics cards a capable host processor. The processor has no integrated graphics, so every monitor connects to a graphics card. Cooling is an Arctic Freezer 4U-M 350W air cooler, a 145mm server-grade air cooler.

Three NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 32GB graphics cards

Each NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 has 21,760 cores and 32GB of GDDR7 memory, and is rated at 575W. The build uses one air cooled card and two liquid cooled (AIO) cards. That mix is what allows three of these cards to fit together in the chassis, so we do not suggest changing the graphics configuration in the configurator. Each card holds its own 32GB, so 32GB per card is the figure to size your scenes against. A GPU renderer that supports multiple cards can spread a render across all three. The same cards suit local AI work such as image generation in Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI.

Monitors connect to the graphics card, which provides 3 x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 x HDMI 2.1b and supports up to four monitors. The output layout can vary by card brand.

256GB DDR5 ECC memory and 2TB NVMe storage

The workstation has 256GB of DDR5 ECC RDIMM at 5600MHz CL46, fitted as 4 x 64GB. ECC memory protects against memory errors during long renders and unattended jobs. The motherboard has eight DIMM slots and supports up to 2TB, so four slots are free if your scenes and datasets outgrow 256GB.

The primary drive is a 2TB WD Black SN7100 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, rated at 7250MB/s read and 6900MB/s write, for your operating system and applications. The motherboard has four M.2 slots, all PCIe 5.0 x4, with three free, plus four SATA 6Gb/s ports, none used. That leaves room for scratch drives and project storage, and you can choose the capacity you need in the configurator.

Corsair 9000D RGB Airflow case and dual power supply

The Corsair 9000D RGB Airflow in black is a full tower with tempered glass. It has the space the E-ATX Gigabyte TRX50 AI TOP-2B motherboard and three high-power graphics cards need. The case measures 698mm deep, 307mm wide and 696mm high, so allow for its size when choosing where it will sit.

Power comes from a 3300W dual power supply, made up of a 2000W ATX unit and a 1300W SFX unit. It is ATX 3.0 and fully modular, which gives headroom for three 575W graphics cards and the Threadripper processor.

Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, 10GbE and USB4

The motherboard provides Marvell AQC113C 10GbE Ethernet, built-in Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. 10GbE is useful for moving large scene files and render output to a network drive or another machine. The rear panel has 2 x USB4 Type-C ports and 6 x Type-A 10Gbps ports. The front panel adds a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port and a headphone and microphone jack. Audio is 7.1 High Definition Audio. No keyboard or mouse is included.

Ideal for

  • GPU rendering in V-Ray, 3ds Max and Blender
  • Real-time scene work in Unreal Engine 5
  • Local AI image generation with Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI
  • Large ZBrush sculpts and Topaz Video AI upscaling
  • DaVinci Resolve colour grading and video work

The triple RTX 5090 rendering workstation is for people whose renders and AI jobs are limited by graphics hardware. A 24 core Threadripper 9960X, 256GB of ECC memory that can grow to 2TB, three 32GB RTX 5090 cards and 10GbE networking make it a well-balanced platform for rendering and AI. You can adjust the CPU, memory and storage in the configurator to match your workload.

Built to order and tested in the UK by Punch Technology, every system comes with a 3-year parts and labour warranty, backed by over 30 years of PC building experience and our status as an AMD Elite System Builder. The estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order.

What is the Threadripper 9000 Triple RTX 5090 Rendering / AI Workstation best for?

The Threadripper 9000 Triple RTX 5090 Rendering / AI Workstation is primarily a GPU rendering and local AI machine for professionals who need several high-memory graphics cards in one desktop. Its three 32GB RTX 5090 cards suit GPU renderers that can use more than one card. The 24 core Threadripper 9960X handles the CPU-side work around them. It has no integrated graphics and no operating system installed, so you set it up with the operating system your software needs.

Typical work includes V-Ray and 3ds Max rendering, Blender GPU rendering, Unreal Engine 5 scenes, ZBrush sculpts, DaVinci Resolve grading and Topaz Video AI upscaling. It also suits SDXL image generation run locally in Stable Diffusion or ComfyUI. The 256GB of ECC system memory is there for large scenes and datasets, with room to expand to 2TB.

Where does the Threadripper 9000 Triple RTX 5090 Rendering / AI Workstation sit in the range?

The two nearest PCs in its range are step-down options. The Core i7 Professional DDR5 Workstation PC uses an Intel Core i7-12700KF with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GPU, 32GB of DDR5 and a 1TB NVMe SSD, which suits single-GPU rendering. The Performance Plus Video Editing Computer uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU, 48GB of DDR5 and a 1TB WD Black SN7100 SSD, and suits editing-led workflows. Choose the triple RTX 5090 workstation when your rendering or AI work needs several 32GB cards and Threadripper-class memory capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this workstation good for V-Ray, 3ds Max and Blender rendering?

Yes, it is built for GPU rendering in V-Ray, 3ds Max and Blender, with three NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 32GB cards and a 24 core Threadripper 9960X. The cards also suit Unreal Engine 5, ZBrush, DaVinci Resolve and Topaz Video AI, and the 256GB of ECC memory gives large scenes room to work. How many cards an application uses depends on its multi-GPU support.

Can I run Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI locally on it?

Yes, each RTX 5090 carries 32GB of GDDR7, which gives local SDXL image generation in Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI plenty of room. Because each card has its own memory, a model or scene needs to fit within 32GB per card. The 256GB of system memory and the fast NVMe SSD help with larger datasets.

Can I change the CPU or graphics cards in the configurator?

You can change parts in the configurator, and you are shown the estimated lead time when you order. If your renderer is GPU focused, configure the CPU down to one of the lower cost models. We do not suggest changing the graphics configuration, because the mix of one air cooled and two liquid cooled (AIO) RTX 5090 cards is what lets three of them fit correctly in the chassis.

How much memory and storage can I add later?

The motherboard has eight DIMM slots and supports up to 2TB of memory. The 256GB fitted uses four slots as 4 x 64GB, so four are free. For storage there are four PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots with three free, and four SATA 6Gb/s ports, none used. That leaves space for scratch drives and project storage alongside the 2TB system SSD.

Who is this PC best suited for?

It is best suited to 3D artists and visualisation studios running GPU renderers, and to AI developers and researchers running models locally. It suits anyone who needs several 32GB graphics cards, 256GB or more of ECC memory and Threadripper-class expansion in a single desktop.

Does the workstation come with Windows?

No, it is supplied without an operating system, so you install the one your software needs. No keyboard or mouse is included either. Monitors, keyboards, mice and cables can be chosen from the accessories above.
