Thermalright LGA1700-BCF Black V2 Bending Corrector Frame
A replacement for the standard Intel LGA1700 retention bracket that presses the processor down evenly instead of at two ends.
Intel’s stock LGA1700 loading mechanism clamps the CPU along its short edges, and over time the integrated heat spreader can bow slightly in the middle. That bow leaves a gap between the cooler’s base and the centre of the chip, which is where most of the heat is produced. The Thermalright bending corrector frame replaces the stock bracket with a one-piece aluminium alloy frame that spreads the clamping force around the whole processor, keeping the heat spreader flat so the cooler makes full contact.
What it does
The frame is a straight swap for the original bracket. The four screws that hold the Intel loading mechanism are removed, the frame is placed over the socket and the supplied L-shaped screwdriver is used to tighten it down evenly. Coolers then mount in the usual way, so it works alongside air coolers and all-in-one liquid coolers from any brand that support LGA1700.
Who it is for
It suits anyone building on a 12th, 13th or 14th generation Intel Core processor who wants the best possible contact between the CPU and the cooler, particularly with the higher-powered K-series chips. The V2 revision is finished in black and weighs just 20g. Punch Technology can fit one during a new build on request.
