Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX AM5 ATX Motherboard (Open Box)
An open-box B650 ATX board for AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors with DDR5, a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot and Wi-Fi 6E.
The B650 Aorus Elite AX is one of the most popular AM5 boards for good reason: it gives you most of what a Ryzen gaming PC needs at a sensible level, with DDR5 memory, a PCIe 5.0 NVMe slot and built-in wireless. This unit is open box, meaning the packaging has been opened, but it is otherwise a complete board. It suits anyone building a Ryzen 7000, 8000 or 9000 Series system who wants a well-equipped full-size board without stepping up to X670 or X870. Punch can fit it as part of a new custom build.
Processor and memory
Socket AM5 supports AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 Series processors. Four DDR5 DIMM slots take up to 256GB (64GB per module) in dual channel, with Gigabyte listing support up to 8000MT/s when overclocked and both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP memory profiles.
Expansion and storage
The main graphics slot is wired to the processor and runs at PCIe 4.0 x16 with Ryzen 7000 and 9000 Series chips (PCIe 4.0 x8 or x4 with Ryzen 8000 Series), and two further full-length slots run at PCIe 3.0 x1 from the chipset. Three M.2 slots are fitted: two from the processor, the first at PCIe 5.0 x4 (PCIe 4.0 with Ryzen 8000 Series) and the second at PCIe 4.0 x4, plus one from the chipset at PCIe 4.0 x4. All three are covered by M.2 thermal guards and accept drives up to 25110 and 22110 lengths. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports handle hard drives and 2.5-inch SSDs.
Connectivity and audio
The rear panel carries a USB Type-C port at USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, five USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 outputs for the Ryzen integrated graphics, a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN port, three audio jacks, two antenna connectors and a Q-Flash Plus button for updating the BIOS without a processor fitted. Wireless is Wi-Fi 6E on 2.4, 5 and 6GHz (AMD RZ616 with Bluetooth 5.2 on PCB rev 1.0, or Intel AX210 with Bluetooth 5.3 on PCB rev 1.1), and audio is a Realtek HD codec with audio noise guard and high-end capacitors. Internal headers include a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C front connector, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 header for two ports and two USB 2.0 headers for four ports.
Ideal for
- Ryzen 7000, 8000 or 9000 Series gaming PCs on a sensible budget
- Builders who want a PCIe 5.0 NVMe slot on AM5
- Systems that need Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5GbE without an add-in card
