ASUS ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WiFi AMD X870 AM5 ATX Motherboard
The black ROG Strix X870 ATX board for Ryzen 9000 with PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage, dual USB4 and Wi-Fi 7.
The ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WiFi is the mainstream black version of ASUS’s X870 ATX design, built for gamers and creators putting together a Ryzen 9000, 8000 or 7000 Series system on Socket AM5. It gives you the same core feature set as its white X870-A sibling: four DDR5 slots, two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, two USB4 ports and Wi-Fi 7, with plenty of fan and RGB headers for a showcase build. Punch can fit this board as part of a new custom PC if you would rather not build it yourself.
Processor, memory and expansion
Four DIMM slots accept up to 256GB of DDR5 in dual channel, with ASUS quoting 8000+MT/s when overclocked and support for AMD EXPO and ASUS AEMP memory profiles. The primary graphics slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series processor (PCIe 4.0 x8/x4 with Ryzen 8000 Series), and a second full-length slot from the chipset runs at PCIe 4.0 x4.
Storage and connectivity
Four M.2 slots are provided: the first two run at PCIe 5.0 x4 with a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 Series chip, and the remaining two run at PCIe 4.0 x4. Two SATA 6Gb/s ports handle hard drives or older SSDs. The rear panel has twelve USB ports, including two USB4 Type-C at 40Gbps with DisplayPort Alt Mode, six 10Gbps ports (five Type-A and one Type-C with 30W fast charging) and four 5Gbps Type-A. Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet with LANGuard, Wi-Fi 7 on 2.4, 5 and 6GHz and Bluetooth 5.4 cover networking, and HDMI and DisplayPort outputs are provided for processors with integrated graphics.
Audio, cooling and lighting headers
Onboard sound is the ROG SupremeFX ALC4080 codec with a Savitech SV3H712 headphone amplifier, SupremeFX shielding and an optical S/PDIF output. The board carries CPU, CPU optional, AIO pump and five chassis fan headers, three addressable Gen 2 RGB headers, and two 8-pin CPU power connectors. Front-panel USB is covered by a 20Gbps Type-C connector, two USB 5Gbps headers and two USB 2.0 headers.
