Why choose a triple RTX 5090 workstation?
A triple RTX 5090 workstation gives multi-GPU software three of NVIDIA's fastest consumer cards to work with. GPU renderers split frames across all three cards, and AI frameworks can spread training or inference across 96GB of combined graphics memory.
It is the most GPU power we fit in a desktop tower. Beyond three cards, our rack-mounted multi-GPU servers take over.
Triple RTX 5090 at a glance
| Graphics cards | 3 x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 |
|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 65,280 (21,760 per card) |
| Graphics memory | 96GB GDDR7 (32GB per card, 512-bit) |
| AI performance | 10,056 AI TOPS (3,352 per card) |
| Graphics power | 1,725W (575W per card) |
| System power supply | 3300W (2000W + 1300W) |
Per-card figures are NVIDIA reference specifications. The system power supply is what we fit in our current builds.
What is a Triple RTX 5090 workstation for?
- Production GPU rendering in Blender Cycles, Redshift, Octane and V-Ray GPU
- Training and fine-tuning AI models across three GPUs
- Running large language models locally across 96GB of graphics memory
- Simulation and scientific computing with CUDA
How we build a Triple RTX 5090 workstation
Three 575W cards draw up to 1,725W on their own, so these workstations use two power supplies, 2000W and 1300W, working together. Two of the three cards are liquid-cooled RTX 5090s, each with its own radiator, which keeps the cards cool and the case airflow manageable.
We build them on AMD Threadripper and Threadripper PRO 9000 processors with 256GB of ECC DDR5 memory as standard, on workstation motherboards with the slot spacing and PCIe lanes that three cards need.
For most rendering and AI work, our Dual RTX 5090 workstations offer the best balance of power and price. For more than three GPUs, see our multi-GPU servers.
Triple RTX 5090 questions
What power supply does a triple RTX 5090 workstation need?
Each RTX 5090 is rated at 575W, so three cards can draw 1,725W before the processor is counted. We fit two power supplies, 2000W and 1300W, giving 3300W in total, so every card has its own dedicated power cables and plenty of headroom. Ask our team about your workload and we will advise on power and cooling for your room.
Do three RTX 5090s combine into 96GB of memory?
Each card has its own 32GB. Software that splits work across GPUs, such as GPU renderers, PyTorch and LLM tools like llama.cpp and vLLM, uses all three cards and their memory together. The RTX 5090 does not support NVLink.
Is a triple RTX 5090 PC good for gaming?
No. Games use only one graphics card. A triple RTX 5090 workstation is for rendering, AI and compute work.
