ADATA XPG Flame 8GB DDR4 3000MHz CL16 (1x8GB)
An 8GB XPG Flame DDR4-3000 module with a heat spreader and XMP 2.0 support, a straightforward way to add memory to a DDR4 desktop.
XPG is ADATA’s performance brand and the Flame series was its entry-level heat-spreader DDR4 line. This AX4U300038G16 module is a single 8GB stick rated for 3000MT/s with CL16-18-18 timings at 1.35V. Selecting the Intel XMP 2.0 profile in the BIOS applies those settings; without it the module runs at the JEDEC default. ADATA builds the Flame on a 10-layer PCB with 2oz copper for cleaner signal transfer and better heat dissipation than a plain green module.
Where it fits
8GB at 3000MT/s is a sensible top-up for an office or light gaming desktop that shipped with a single 8GB module, bringing it to 16GB in dual channel, or a replacement for a failed stick in a DDR4 system. ADATA lists support for Intel XMP 2.0 platforms; it also runs on AMD AM4 boards that read XMP profiles.
Build quality
The heat spreader keeps the DRAM cooler under sustained load and the thicker copper layers in the PCB help the module hold its rated speed. ADATA covers the module with a limited lifetime warranty.
Fitting
The module measures 133 x 33 x 7.5mm, so it clears most tower coolers. For dual-channel operation pair it with an identical module. Punch Technology can fit it in a new DDR4 build.
Ideal for
- Upgrading an 8GB desktop to 16GB
- Replacing a failed DDR4 module
- Budget DDR4 builds that want a heat-spreader module
