The Core i7-14700KF is the same processor as the Core i7-14700K with the integrated graphics disabled. It has eight Performance-cores and twelve Efficient-cores for 28 threads, an unlocked multiplier for overclocking on Z-series motherboards, and the same high turbo clocks, so it delivers identical gaming and multi-threaded performance for anyone who already plans to fit a graphics card. It is a boxed retail part supplied without a cooler, so a tower air cooler or liquid cooler needs to be chosen with it.

Cores and clocks

The Performance-cores run from a 3.4GHz base to 5.5GHz, and the processor’s maximum turbo frequency is 5.6GHz. The Efficient-cores run between 2.5GHz and 4.3GHz and take on background work such as streaming encodes and browser tabs while games hold the P-cores. There is 33MB of Intel Smart Cache and 28MB of L2 cache.

Platform and memory

It fits socket LGA1700 and supports DDR5 at up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 at up to 3200 MT/s with a maximum of 192GB. Twenty PCIe lanes across PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 are available for the graphics card and primary NVMe drive. With no integrated GPU, a graphics card is required for any display output, so this is a part for a dedicated gaming or workstation build rather than an office PC.

Power and cooling

Processor base power is 125W and maximum turbo power 253W. To keep all-core clocks high under sustained load, pair it with a 240mm or larger liquid cooler or a dual-tower air cooler. Punch can fit it in a new build with cooling and power supply matched to the rest of the system.
