AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6 Core AM5 Processor (OEM, No Cooler)
A six-core Zen 4 processor that is the sensible starting point for an AM5 gaming or general-purpose PC.
The Ryzen 5 7600 is the 65W six-core, twelve-thread member of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 desktop family. It brings the Zen 4 architecture, DDR5 memory and the AM5 socket to a mainstream budget, and because AMD has committed to AM5 for several processor generations it leaves a clear upgrade path later on. This is the OEM tray version, supplied as the bare processor without a cooler, so a compatible AM5 cooler must be specified alongside it.
Cores and clocks
Six cores with simultaneous multithreading give twelve threads, running from a 3.8GHz base up to a 5.1GHz maximum boost. There is 32MB of L3 cache and 6MB of L2, which helps games in particular. The processor is unlocked, and AMD’s Precision Boost Overdrive and Curve Optimizer are supported on boards that expose them, so there is tuning headroom for those who want it.
Platform and graphics
It fits socket AM5 and supports dual-channel DDR5 memory at up to DDR5-5200 with two modules and a maximum of 128GB, with AMD EXPO memory profiles supported. It provides PCIe 5.0 with 28 lanes (24 usable) for a graphics card and NVMe storage, and AMD lists support for the A620, B650, B650E, X670, X670E, B840, B850, X870 and X870E chipsets. A small two-core Radeon graphics unit is built in, enough to drive a display for office work or to keep a PC usable while waiting for a graphics card, though not intended for gaming. ECC memory is supported where the motherboard allows it.
Power and cooling
With a 65W default TDP the Ryzen 5 7600 is easy to cool quietly with a modest tower air cooler. As a tray part there is no cooler in the box. Punch can fit it in a new AM5 build with a suitable cooler and DDR5 memory.
