A high-pressure 92mm PWM fan for small form factor cases and compact coolers where a 120mm fan will not fit.

The Thermalright TL-B9 is a 92mm fan that performs well above what its size suggests. It is built for Mini-ITX and other compact systems that only have 92mm mounts, and for small CPU coolers and 92mm radiators, where its combination of 54 CFM airflow and 2.24 mm-H2O static pressure makes a real difference to temperatures. The slightly thicker 25.6 mm frame, all-black finish and weighty feel give it a quality that cheaper 92mm fans lack, and rubber mounting pads at all four corners isolate it from the case to keep vibration noise down.

Airflow and noise

Under PWM control the fan runs up to 2500 rpm, and even at that maximum Thermalright rates it at 23 dB(A). Because it is PWM controlled through a 4-pin connector, the motherboard can hold it at a fraction of that speed in normal use and only spin it up when the system is under load. The fan draws 0.13 A.

Build quality

Thermalright’s S-FDB bearing is a fluid dynamic type chosen for long life and low noise. The fan weighs 105 g, which is heavy for a 92mm unit and reflects the solid frame and motor. It has no lighting, which suits compact and workstation builds where a plain black fan is preferred.

Compatibility

It fits any standard 92mm fan mount, including the rear exhaust position of many small and mid-tower cases, 92mm tower coolers and 92mm radiators. Punch can fit it in a new small form factor build.
