MSI’s most basic LGA1700 board: a compact, dependable DDR4 platform for office PCs that need HDMI and VGA outputs and nothing fancy.

The MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4 is designed for volume office and everyday desktops where cost and reliability matter more than features. It supports 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors and takes up to 64GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz across two DIMMs, so it can reuse memory from an older system. At 23.6 x 20cm it fits in the smallest Micro-ATX cases. Punch can build it into a complete business PC with a Core i3 or Core i5.

Storage and expansion

A single M.2 slot from the chipset accepts 2242, 2260 or 2280 drives in PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA mode, backed by four SATA 6Gb/s ports. The PCIe 4.0 x16 slot from the processor takes a graphics card if the system ever needs one, and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot is available for a network or sound card.

Connectivity and displays

The rear panel provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, HDMI 1.4 (4K at 30Hz) and VGA outputs for two displays from the processor’s integrated graphics, a Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit Ethernet port and audio jacks from the Realtek ALC897 codec. Front-panel headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 ports. There is no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Business features

Three fan headers (CPU plus two system), a TPM header, chassis intrusion header, serial port header, a single RGB header and MSI’s EZ Debug LEDs cover what a managed desktop needs, and the board runs from a standard 24-pin plus 8-pin power supply.
