Micron 16GB DDR5 4800MHz ECC RDIMM (1x16GB) MTC10F1084S1RC48BR
A 16GB DDR5-4800 registered ECC module for servers and RDIMM workstations. This is server memory and will not fit a consumer desktop board.
The Micron MTC10F1084S1RC48BR is a single-rank (1Rx8) DDR5 RDIMM running at 4800MT/s with CL40 timings. Registered DIMMs put a buffer between the memory controller and the DRAM chips, which lets server platforms drive many modules per channel reliably; they are the standard memory type for Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC systems and for workstations built on those platforms. Consumer boards use unbuffered DDR5 UDIMMs and cannot accept this module.
The entry point for DDR5 servers
16GB modules are the smallest DDR5 RDIMM capacity and are the usual choice when a server needs every channel populated for bandwidth but does not need a huge total. Eight of them give a single-socket system 128GB across all channels, which suits web, file and light virtualisation duties. Single-rank modules also keep power and heat down.
ECC
On-module error-correcting code detects and corrects single-bit errors before they reach the operating system, the baseline expectation for any machine running 24/7. Micron manufactures its own DRAM, tests every module to server standards and covers the part with a three-year warranty.
Fitting
Check the platform’s qualified-vendor list for 16GB 1Rx8 DDR5-4800 RDIMMs and install in matched sets across channels. Punch Technology can specify and fit it in a new server or workstation build.
Ideal for
- Entry and mid-range Xeon and EPYC servers
- Populating all channels for bandwidth at modest cost
- Replacing or matching existing DDR5-4800 RDIMMs
