The Blue Yeti is the long-standing default USB microphone for streaming, podcasting and calls, in the all-black Blackout finish.

Now sold under Logitech G, the Yeti uses three 14mm condenser capsules that can be combined into four pickup patterns from a switch on the back. Cardioid picks up what is in front of it for streaming and voice-over; bidirectional records two people facing each other; omnidirectional captures a room for conference calls; stereo gives a wide image for music or ASMR. It records at 48kHz and 16-bit over USB with no drivers to install, and works with Windows and macOS applications straight away.

Monitoring and control

A 3.5mm headphone socket on the microphone gives zero-latency monitoring of your own voice, with a volume control on the front. A gain dial sets the input level and a mute button with an indicator light silences the mic instantly. The headphone amplifier is rated at 130mW into 16 ohms with a 100dB signal-to-noise ratio.

Blue VO!CE and mounting

Through Logitech G HUB, Blue VO!CE adds voice filters, noise reduction and presets. The Yeti comes on a weighted desk stand with tilt adjustment; the microphone unscrews from the stand to fit a boom arm with a standard thread. The internal shockmount reduces vibration from the desk. Punch can supply this microphone with a new streaming or content-creation PC.
