Core Ultra 7 Photo Editing PC – Built in the UK

The High End Photography PC is a Core Ultra 7 photo editing PC for professional photographers and studios, with a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, 64GB of DDR5 6000 memory, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB, Thunderbolt 4, 11TB of tiered storage and a front-panel card reader.

The High End Photography PC is a Core Ultra 7 photo editing PC built on Intel’s newest desktop platform, for photographers who want the volume-processing power of the Performance Plus with the connectivity and headroom of a modern workstation. Its twenty-four-core Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has four more cores than the Core i7-14700KF in the Performance Plus, which helps with preview builds, batch Denoise and large exports. 64GB of DDR5 6000 memory keeps the largest layered files and stacks in memory, and the RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 handles Lightroom’s and Photoshop’s GPU features. The ASUS TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI board brings Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, a PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot and eight rear USB ports, and a 5.25-inch multi card reader on the front takes cards straight from the camera. Storage is three-tiered, with a 1TB WD Black SN7100 for Windows and applications, a 2TB WD Blue SN5100 for catalogues and current work and an 8TB Seagate IronWolf for the archive. Housed in the be quiet! Pure Base 600 with an 850W power supply, this photo editing PC is built for long working days in the studio.

The High End Photography PC is built on an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficient) running at a 3.7GHz P-core base and up to 5.5GHz, with 64GB of DDR5 6000MHz memory and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 graphics card. Storage is a 1TB WD Black SN7100 NVMe SSD, a 2TB WD Blue SN5100 NVMe SSD and an 8TB Seagate IronWolf hard drive. It comes with Microsoft Windows 11 Home (genuine, pre-installed) and a 3-year parts and labour warranty.

Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus – 24 Cores on Intel’s Newest Platform

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has eight performance cores and sixteen efficient cores, twenty-four cores in all, with a 3.7GHz P-core base clock, a 5.5GHz maximum turbo and 36MB of L3 cache. That is four more cores than the Core i7-14700KF in the Performance Plus, and the extra cores go straight into the jobs photographers wait for: 1:1 previews for a full wedding, exporting a thousand JPEGs, running Denoise across a whole shoot or stitching panoramas while something else exports in the background. The processor also has integrated graphics. The platform brings DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 for the graphics card and one M.2 slot, and the board adds Thunderbolt 4. A Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB dual-tower air cooler, rated to 280W, keeps the processor cool.

64GB DDR5 6000 Memory – Fast Now, 256GB Later

The 64GB of DDR5 memory runs at 6000MHz and is fitted as two 32GB modules, so 100 megapixel files with dozens of layers, long focus stacks and gigapixel panoramas stay in memory rather than paging to disk, and the higher bandwidth of DDR5 helps the memory-heavy stages of Denoise, merges and exports. Two of the four DIMM slots remain free and the TUF Z890 board supports up to 256GB, so the system can be taken to 128GB or beyond without discarding the existing modules. This is the tier for photographers who expect their memory needs to keep growing.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 – GPU-Accelerated Editing and 4K Video

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 has 6,144 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR7 memory. Lightroom Classic’s AI Denoise, AI masking and Super Resolution, Photoshop’s Neural Filters and Generative Fill, Camera Raw processing, DxO DeepPRIME XD and Topaz Photo AI all make use of the graphics card, and the 12GB of memory is what allows 4K and 6K video editing and colour grading in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, large-canvas Generative Fill and local AI image tools to run without slowing down. The card sits in the board’s PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and drives up to four monitors over three DisplayPort 2.1b and one HDMI 2.1b output. A 16GB RTX 5070 Ti can be selected in the configurator for heavy video or 3D work.

11TB Three-Tier Storage with Two M.2 Slots Free

Storage is split three ways so that nothing competes for the same drive. A 1TB WD Black SN7100 NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 7,250MB/s read and 6,900MB/s write, holds Windows 11 and your applications. A 2TB WD Blue SN5100 PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive, up to 7,100MB/s read and 6,700MB/s write, is dedicated to Lightroom catalogues, previews, the Camera Raw cache and the shoots you are working on now. An 8TB Seagate IronWolf NAS-class 3.5-inch SATA drive running at 7,200rpm archives the finished library. The TUF Z890 board has four M.2 slots, so two remain free for more NVMe storage later, and the Pure Base 600 has room for two more 3.5-inch drives and up to eight 2.5-inch drives.

Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5G LAN and a Front-Panel Card Reader

Connectivity is where this tier separates itself. The ASUS TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI has a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port on the rear for fast card readers, RAID enclosures and docks, which can also carry a display signal. Beside it are a 20Gbps USB-C port, three 10Gbps USB-A ports and three 5Gbps USB-A ports, Intel 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet for fast transfers to a NAS, and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 built into the board. At the front, the 5.25-inch Kingwin multi card reader adds USB 3.0 and eSATA connections, and a USB 3.0 PCIe card with two internal dual header ports is fitted alongside the case’s own two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, headphone jack and microphone jack. 7.1-channel high-definition audio is built in.

be quiet! Pure Base 600 – Solid Steel Black Mid Tower

The High End Photography PC is built in the be quiet! Pure Base 600 Black, a solid steel mid-tower chosen for the studio rather than the games room. A 140mm front fan and a 120mm rear fan are pre-installed, and the Phantom Spirit air cooler stands 155mm tall. The case has mounts for three 3.5-inch and eight 2.5-inch drives, with one 5.25-inch bay used by the card reader. It measures 492mm deep, 220mm wide and 470mm tall. Power comes from a Contour 850W ATX 3.1 supply.

Ideal for

  • Working photographers processing thousands of RAW files a week who want the newest platform
  • Studios using Thunderbolt card readers, RAID enclosures or docks
  • Commercial and studio work at 45 to 100 megapixels with heavy layering and retouching
  • Photographers who also deliver 4K video, colour graded in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Anyone who wants room to grow to 256GB of memory and more NVMe storage

With twenty-four cores, 64GB of DDR5 6000, a GeForce RTX 5070 12GB, Thunderbolt 4 and 11TB of storage on three tiers, the High End Photography PC is the Core Ultra 7 photo editing PC for photographers who want current-generation everything. It shares its RTX 5070 12GB and 1TB WD Black SN7100 with the Performance Plus and spends the difference on the platform: the processor, DDR5 memory, the Z890 board and the card reader.

Built to order and tested in the UK by Punch Technology, every system comes with a 3-year parts and labour warranty, backed by over 30 years of PC building experience. The estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order.

What is the High End Photography PC best for?

The High End Photography PC is primarily a photo editing PC for professionals who want the newest platform: photographers processing thousands of RAW files a week, commercial and studio photographers working at 45 to 100 megapixels with deep layer stacks, and studios whose card readers, RAID enclosures and docks run over Thunderbolt. Its twenty-four-core Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, 64GB of DDR5 6000 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB are matched to long multi-threaded batch jobs and GPU-heavy AI tools alike, and the card reader and Thunderbolt port make ingest from any camera fast.

Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and Camera Raw are the core applications, and Capture One, DxO PhotoLab with DeepPRIME XD, ON1 Photo RAW, Affinity Photo 2, Luminar Neo, Topaz Photo AI and Helicon Focus all run well, with their GPU-accelerated features fully used. The RTX 5070’s 12GB of memory makes 4K and 6K video editing and colour grading in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve comfortable, and local AI image tools that need more than 8GB of graphics memory run well.

Where does the High End Photography PC sit in the range?

The High End Photography PC sits one step above the Performance Plus Photography Computer, with which it shares the RTX 5070 12GB and the 1TB WD Black SN7100. The difference is the platform: the twenty-four-core Core Ultra 7 270K Plus in place of the Core i7-14700KF, 64GB of DDR5 6000 in place of DDR4 3200 with headroom to 256GB, the ASUS TUF Z890 board with Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, PCIe 5.0 and four M.2 slots, and a front-panel card reader. Choose the High End when Thunderbolt and long-term headroom matter; choose the Performance Plus when the budget is better spent elsewhere. One step up, the High End Plus Photography PC V2 moves to a Core Ultra 9 285K with CL30 memory, and the Professional Photography PC V2 adds an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB for the busiest studios.

Frequently Asked Questions

What software does the High End Photography PC run?

The High End Photography PC runs Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and Camera Raw quickly, including their GPU-accelerated AI features, and Capture One, DxO PhotoLab, ON1 Photo RAW, Affinity Photo 2, Luminar Neo, Topaz Photo AI and Helicon Focus all run well. It also handles 4K and 6K video editing and colour grading in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, local AI image tools, and everyday productivity software with ease.

What does the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus add over a Core i7?

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has twenty-four cores against the Core i7-14700KF’s twenty, so batch exports, preview generation and Denoise across a whole shoot finish sooner. It also brings the newer platform with it: DDR5 6000 memory, PCIe 5.0 for graphics and M.2 storage, Thunderbolt 4 on the board and integrated graphics. The difference shows most in volume work and in everything around the processor.

Does this PC have Thunderbolt?

Yes. The ASUS TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI board has one Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port on the rear, so Thunderbolt card readers, RAID enclosures, docks and monitors connect directly. It sits alongside a 20Gbps USB-C port, six USB-A ports, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7.

How is the storage configured, and does it have a card reader?

The High End Photography PC uses a three-tier layout. A 1TB WD Black SN7100 NVMe SSD holds Windows 11 and your applications, a 2TB WD Blue SN5100 NVMe SSD is dedicated to Lightroom catalogues, previews, the Camera Raw cache and current shoots, and an 8TB Seagate IronWolf NAS-class hard drive archives your finished library. Two M.2 slots remain free for more NVMe storage. A 5.25-inch Kingwin multi card reader on the front adds USB 3.0 and eSATA connections, so cards go straight from the camera into the PC without an external reader.

Who is this PC best suited for?

The High End Photography PC is best suited to working photographers and studios who want current-generation everything: the newest Intel platform, DDR5 memory with room to grow to 256GB, Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7, a built-in card reader and the processing power to turn thousands of RAW files around quickly. Photographers whose work is volume editing without the need for Thunderbolt or the newest platform may find the Performance Plus Photography Computer a better use of budget.

Can this PC be configured with different components?

Yes. Like all Punch Technology systems, the High End Photography PC is configurable and built to order, and the estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order. Popular changes for photographers include more memory, larger or additional drives, a Windows 11 Pro licence and a higher-specification graphics card for heavy video and 3D work. Every system is assembled and tested in the UK and covered by our 3-year parts and labour warranty.
