Gigabyte A520M K V2 Micro-ATX AM4 Motherboard
A no-frills AM4 board for low-cost Ryzen office and family PCs, with HDMI and VGA outputs for processors with integrated graphics.
The Gigabyte A520M K V2 is the kind of board you choose when the budget matters more than the feature list. It supports AMD Ryzen 3000, 4000 G-Series, 5000 and 5000 G-Series processors on the AM4 socket, and pairs best with a 65W G-Series chip such as a Ryzen 5 5600G so the on-board HDMI 2.1 and D-Sub outputs can be used without a graphics card. Two DDR4 slots take up to 64GB and support XMP profiles up to 5100MHz. Punch can build it into a compact system with a matching case and memory.
Expansion and storage
A PCIe 3.0 x16 slot from the CPU accepts a graphics card if you later want one, and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot is available for a network or sound card. Storage comes from a single M.2 slot that accepts 2280 drives in PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA mode, plus four SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1 and 10 support. The 4+2 phase power design has no VRM heatsink, which is why it suits 65W processors rather than a Ryzen 9.
Connectivity
The rear panel provides four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 keyboard and mouse port, Realtek Gigabit Ethernet and three audio jacks from the Realtek high-definition codec. Internal headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 ports for the case front panel. There is no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or RGB lighting, which keeps the cost down.
Reliability and BIOS
Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable design, an AMI UEFI BIOS with Q-Flash updates, a TPM header, chassis intrusion header and a system fan header alongside the CPU fan header cover the basics for a dependable everyday machine.
