ASUS Prime A520M-K AM4 Micro-ATX DDR4 Motherboard
A compact, low-cost AM4 board for Ryzen 3000 to 5000 Series processors with M.2 storage, HDMI 2.1 and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
The ASUS Prime A520M-K is a micro-ATX motherboard on AMD’s A520 chipset, supporting Ryzen 5000, 5000G, 4000G, 3000 and 3000G Series processors on the AM4 socket. It is designed for straightforward desktops where the processor and memory do the work and the motherboard simply needs to be reliable and well connected. ASUS backs that up with over 8,000 hours of validation testing, a DIGI+ VRM for stable power, LANGuard surge protection and a SafeSlot Core reinforced PCIe slot. It is a sensible choice for an office PC, a home computer around a Ryzen G-series chip with integrated graphics, or a budget gaming build with a mid-range card.
Processor and memory
Two DDR4 DIMM slots take up to 64GB in dual-channel mode, with ASUS OptiMem II trace routing and listed speeds up to 5100MHz with overclocked kits. The achievable speed depends on the processor and modules fitted.
Expansion and storage
The PCIe 3.0 x16 slot is wired to the processor and runs at full x16, and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots from the chipset take sound, capture or network cards. The M.2 slot accepts 2242, 2260 or 2280 drives in PCIe 3.0 x4 (32Gbps) or SATA mode, and four SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1 and 10 support cover hard drives and 2.5-inch SSDs.
Connectivity
The rear panel carries HDMI 2.1 (4K at 60Hz) and D-Sub outputs for processors with Radeon graphics, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, a Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit Ethernet port and audio jacks from a Realtek 7.1-channel HD codec with audio shielding and dedicated audio PCB layers. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 header feeds two front-panel ports and two USB 2.0 headers four more. Punch can fit this board in a new AM4 build if you prefer.
