What is Intel 11th Gen?
Intel's 11th Generation Core processors arrived in 2020 for laptops and 2021 for desktops. The desktop chips, such as the Core i7-11700, brought PCIe 4.0 support and stronger cores than 10th Gen; the laptop chips, such as the Core i5-1135G7, introduced Intel Iris Xe graphics, a big step up for integrated graphics.

Should you buy an 11th Gen PC today?
For office work, browsing, email and study, an 11th Gen system is still quick and runs Windows 11, which officially supports 11th Gen processors. For gaming, video editing or anything demanding, a newer processor is the better buy: today's Core i5-14400 has 10 cores against the i5-11400's 6, and Core Ultra processors add a built-in AI engine and better efficiency. Do 11th Gen Intel processors support Windows 11?
Yes. Microsoft supports Windows 11 on Intel 8th Gen processors and newer, so every 11th Gen PC on this page runs Windows 11.
Is an 11th Gen Core i7 still good?
The Core i7-11700 has 8 cores and 16 threads with a 4.9GHz turbo, which is plenty for office, home and light creative work. For modern games, pair a newer processor with a dedicated graphics card.
What replaced Intel 11th Gen?
12th Gen Core processors followed in late 2021 with a new design that mixes performance and efficiency cores. Intel's current desktop range is Core Ultra.
