Intel Core i7-12700KF RTX 5060 Ti Gaming Desktop – Built in the UK

The Steel Pro is a mid-range i7-12700KF RTX 5060 Ti gaming desktop for 1080p high settings and 1440p medium to high settings play in esports and AAA titles.

This i7-12700KF RTX 5060 Ti gaming desktop is built to order in the UK around a 12-core, 20-thread Intel Core i7-12700KF and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. It sits in a black Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB tempered glass case with a 240mm MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 liquid cooler, and every part can be changed in the configurator before you order. The estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order.

The Steel Pro is built on an Intel Core i7-12700KF processor (12 cores, 20 threads, up to 5.0GHz) on a Gigabyte B760 DS3H ATX motherboard, with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GDDR7 graphics card. It has 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory in two 8GB modules and a 1TB WD Blue SN5100 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. It ships with genuine, pre-installed Microsoft Windows 11 Home and a 3-year parts and labour warranty.

Intel Core i7-12700KF processor

The Core i7-12700KF has 12 cores and 20 threads, with a 3.6GHz base clock, a maximum turbo of 5.0GHz and 25MB of L3 cache. It uses the LGA1700 socket. That gives a game plenty of processing headroom, with voice chat, a browser and launcher software running alongside it. The processor has no integrated graphics, so a dedicated graphics card does all the display work, and this build includes one. The B760 motherboard does not support CPU overclocking, so the processor runs at its stock clocks.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB graphics

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has 4608 cores and 8GB of GDDR7 memory, and draws 180W. It targets 1080p gaming on high settings and 1440p on medium to high settings. Demanding 4K gaming and ray tracing at 4K are outside its target. The card provides 3 x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 x HDMI 2.1b outputs and supports up to four monitors, although the exact port layout may vary by card brand. All monitors connect to the graphics card rather than the motherboard.

Memory and PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage

The system has 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory running in dual channel as 2 x 8GB. The Gigabyte B760 DS3H has four DIMM slots and supports up to 128GB, so two slots are free for later upgrades. The 1TB WD Blue SN5100 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is rated at 7100MB/s read and 6700MB/s write. It holds Windows and your games, and cuts boot and load times compared with a SATA drive. The board has a second PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot free and four SATA 6Gb/s ports unused, so extra storage is easy to add later.

Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB case and 240mm liquid cooling

The Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB Black is a mid tower with a tempered glass panel and three pre-installed RS120 ARGB PWM fans. The processor is cooled by an MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 Black with a 240mm radiator. The power supply is a Contour 650W ATX unit, which is non-modular. The case has no optical drive, which suits a PC where games and software are downloaded.

Connectivity

The motherboard has 1GbE Realtek wired networking, and Wi-Fi 5 comes from a 600Mbps 11ac dual band USB adapter. Audio is Realtek 7.1 HD Audio. The rear panel has 1 x Type-C 20Gbps, 1 x Type-A 10Gbps and 4 x Type-A USB 2.0 ports, plus the RJ-45 Ethernet port and the graphics card outputs. No keyboard or mouse is included, so pick them from the accessory buttons below.

Ideal for

  • 1080p high-settings gaming in titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2
  • 1440p esports play in CS2, Valorant and Fortnite
  • Gamers moving from an older PC to current-generation NVIDIA graphics
  • Buyers who want a tempered glass, ARGB-lit build with a 240mm liquid cooler
  • Anyone who wants to tailor memory, storage or graphics in the configurator before ordering

For players who want a balanced i7-12700KF RTX 5060 Ti gaming desktop with room to grow, the Steel Pro combines a 12-core processor, current NVIDIA graphics, fast PCIe 4.0 storage and a 240mm liquid cooler in a tempered glass case. Two free memory slots, a free M.2 slot and four unused SATA ports leave space to expand later.

Built to order and tested in the UK by Punch Technology, every system comes with a 3-year parts and labour warranty, backed by over 30 years of PC building experience. The estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order.

What is the Steel Pro best for?

The Steel Pro is primarily a 1080p and 1440p gaming PC, aimed at high settings at 1080p and medium to high settings at 1440p. The Core i7-12700KF gives it a strong processor for esports and open-world games, while the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB sets the resolution ceiling. Demanding 4K gaming and ray tracing at 4K are outside its target. If you want more graphics power, change the graphics card in the configurator or look higher in the range.

Competitive titles such as CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone and Rocket League are well within its reach. It also suits Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong at 1080p high, and Hogwarts Legacy, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring at high settings. Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel Rivals and Helldivers 2 are good fits, and MSFS 2024 runs at medium settings.

Where does the Steel Pro sit in the range?

Below the Steel Pro, the Obsidian XII Gaming PC uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF with 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory and a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Mini cooler. The EOS Pro Gaming PC pairs an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 with an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and 16GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory. Above it, the Metal R Ryzen Gaming PC moves to a Ryzen 7 5700X, a 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XT and 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory. The Titanium Gaming PC uses a Ryzen 7 5800X with the same 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XT and 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory. The Steel Pro is the choice here if you want an Intel Core i7 with NVIDIA graphics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What games can the Steel Pro run?

The Steel Pro runs current games at 1080p on high settings, and many at 1440p on medium to high settings. Esports titles such as CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone and Rocket League are well within its reach. It also handles Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong at 1080p high, and Hogwarts Legacy, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring at high settings. Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2 and MSFS 2024 at medium settings also suit it.

Which port do I plug my monitor into on the Steel Pro?

Plug your monitor into the graphics card, not the motherboard. The Intel Core i7-12700KF has no integrated graphics, so the motherboard video outputs are not active. The RTX 5060 Ti provides 3 x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 x HDMI 2.1b and supports up to four monitors. The exact port layout may vary by card brand.

Can I add more RAM or storage to the Steel Pro later?

Yes, there is room for both. The Gigabyte B760 DS3H has four DIMM slots and supports up to 128GB of DDR4, with two slots in use. There is also a free PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot and four unused SATA 6Gb/s ports for more drives.

Can I change the parts in the Steel Pro?

Yes, you can change parts in the configurator before you order. The Steel Pro is built to order, so the estimated lead time for your configuration is shown when you order.

Who is this PC best suited for?

The Steel Pro is best suited to PC gamers who want strong 1080p performance and capable 1440p play from an Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA graphics. It suits esports players, buyers moving up from an older PC, and anyone who likes a tempered glass case with ARGB fans and a 240mm liquid cooler. It is not aimed at demanding 4K gaming.

Does the Steel Pro include Windows, Wi-Fi and a keyboard and mouse?

The Steel Pro includes genuine, pre-installed Microsoft Windows 11 Home and a 600Mbps 11ac dual band USB Wi-Fi 5 adapter. A keyboard and mouse are not included. It comes with a 3-year parts and labour warranty, with free returns on warranty claims in the first year.
