The Core i9-14900F carries the same 24-core layout as the flagship 14th generation Core i9, with eight Performance-cores and sixteen Efficient-cores for 32 threads, but without integrated graphics and without an unlocked multiplier. That makes it a strong choice for a gaming or content-creation PC that already has a discrete graphics card and does not need overclocking. It is a boxed retail part and ships with Intel’s stock cooler, though most buyers will pair it with a better cooler to hold turbo clocks for longer.

Cores and clocks

The Performance-cores start at a 2.0GHz base and turbo to 5.4GHz, with the processor’s maximum turbo frequency reaching 5.8GHz. The Efficient-cores run from 1.5GHz to 4.3GHz. A 36MB Intel Smart Cache and 32MB of L2 keep data close to the cores, which helps in games and in heavily threaded applications alike.

Platform and memory

It fits socket LGA1700 and supports DDR5 at up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 at up to 3200 MT/s, up to 192GB. Twenty PCIe lanes across PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 serve the graphics card and main NVMe drive. Because there is no integrated GPU, the PC must have a graphics card fitted to display anything.

Power and cooling
