The MSI B760M Gaming Plus WIFI DDR5 is a popular choice for compact Intel gaming PCs, and for good reason: it packs a 12-phase power design, DDR5 support up to 6800+ MHz and a full set of modern connectivity into a Micro-ATX footprint. It supports 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors and takes up to 256GB of memory across four DIMMs with XMP 3.0. Punch can build it into a complete small-tower gaming system.

Storage and expansion

Two M.2 slots are provided: the first runs at PCIe 4.0 x4 from the processor and the second at PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA from the chipset, both with heatsinks and accepting 2242 to 2280 drives. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support cover hard drives. The graphics slot is PCIe 4.0 x16 from the CPU, with a second x16-length slot at PCIe 4.0 x4 and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for further cards.

Connectivity and displays

The rear panel provides two USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 port, two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for the processor’s integrated graphics, a Realtek RTL8125BG 2.5Gb Ethernet port, Wi-Fi antenna connectors and audio jacks from the Realtek ALC897 codec. The pre-installed Intel Wi-Fi 6E module supports 160MHz channels on 2.4, 5 and 6GHz with Bluetooth 5.3. Front-panel headers add a USB 5Gbps Type-C, four USB 5Gbps Type-A and four USB 2.0 ports.

Cooling and control

Four fan headers (CPU, pump and two system), two addressable Gen 2 and one RGB LED header, a TPM header and MSI’s four EZ Debug LEDs cover the practical side of a small gaming build.
