Ryzen 9 9900X V-Ray Rendering Workstation – Built in the UK

The Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation is a Ryzen 9 9900X V-Ray rendering workstation with an RTX 5080 for freelance visualisation artists, sole practitioners and small studios.

This Ryzen 9 9900X V-Ray rendering workstation is built for people who need serious GPU rendering and a capable CPU in the same machine. It pairs a 12-core, 24-thread AMD Ryzen 9 9900X with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 graphics card and 64GB of DDR5 memory, the combination that V-Ray, Chaos Corona, Lumion and Enscape workflows lean on. Because it is built to order, the parts can be changed in the configurator if your scenes call for something different.

The Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation is built on an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X (12 cores, 24 threads, 4.4GHz base, up to 5.6GHz turbo, 64MB L3 cache) on an ASUS PRIME X870-P WIFI ATX motherboard. It has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 6000MHz CL36 memory (2 x 32GB) and a 2TB WD Blue SN5100 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. It is cooled by a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB air cooler, powered by a Contour 850W ATX 3.1 PSU and housed in a Fractal Design Epoch Solid Black case. It comes with Microsoft Windows 11 Home 64-bit (genuine, pre-installed) and a 3-year parts and labour warranty.

Ryzen 9 9900X processor for V-Ray and Corona rendering

The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X has 12 cores and 24 threads, a 4.4GHz base clock, a 5.6GHz maximum turbo and 64MB of L3 cache on the AM5 platform. In V-Ray CPU and hybrid rendering and in Chaos Corona, the extra threads shorten final renders. The high boost clock keeps everyday work in 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, SketchUp and Rhino responsive between renders.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB graphics

The RTX 5080 has 10,752 cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory, and it is the main rendering engine in this system. It gives V-Ray GPU rendering, denoising and the 3ds Max viewport the CUDA and OptiX acceleration they use. Real-time tools such as Lumion, Enscape, D5 Render and Twinmotion, and Unreal Engine 5 architectural scenes, draw directly on the card’s compute power and memory. GPU rendering needs the scene to fit in video memory, so 16GB suits typical architectural, interior and product scenes. If your scenes are heavier, talk to us about the configuration before you order.

The card provides 3 x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 x HDMI 2.1b, for up to four monitors (the output layout may vary by card brand).

64GB DDR5 memory and 2TB NVMe storage

The 64GB of DDR5 6000MHz memory runs as a dual-channel 2 x 32GB kit. The motherboard supports up to 256GB across four DIMM slots, two of which are free, so there is room to grow as scene complexity increases. The 2TB WD Blue SN5100 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD reads at up to 7,100MB/s and writes at up to 6,700MB/s. It holds the operating system and your applications, and gives fast loading for V-Ray assets, Lumion libraries, Enscape scene data and large texture sets, along with quick saving of large scene files.

For extra storage there are four M.2 slots on the board (three free), two SATA 6Gb/s ports and case mounts for 2 x 3.5″ and 2 x 2.5″ drives.

Fractal Design Epoch case and air cooling

The Fractal Design Epoch Solid Black is a black mid-tower case with solid steel construction and a plain, understated look that suits studio desks and client-facing offices. It measures 443mm deep, 215mm wide and 455mm high, and comes with 3 x Momentum 12 fans fitted at the front.

The CPU is cooled by a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, a 155mm dual-tower air cooler rated at 280W. Air cooling means there is no pump, tubing or radiator to maintain, which suits a workstation used every day. The system is powered by a Contour 850W ATX 3.1 PSU, with the RTX 5080 rated at 360W.

Wi-Fi 7, USB4 and 2.5GbE connectivity

The ASUS PRIME X870-P WIFI board provides built-in Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 2.5GbE wired networking, for both fixed studio desks and flexible remote setups. At the rear there are 2 x USB4 Type-C, 1 x Type-A 10Gbps, 3 x Type-A 5Gbps and 4 x USB 2.0 ports. The front panel has 1 x USB Type-C 20Gbps, 2 x USB-A and a headphone/microphone combo jack, and the board has 7.1-channel Realtek High Definition Audio. No keyboard or mouse is included, so add the ones you prefer from the accessories below.

What is the Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation best for?

The Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation is primarily a rendering and visualisation workstation for V-Ray work in 3ds Max, with real-time tools such as Lumion and Enscape running on the same machine. The 16GB RTX 5080 handles GPU rendering, while the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X handles CPU and hybrid rendering, so one system covers both ways of working. It is aimed at individual artists and small studios rather than large multi-GPU studio platforms.

Architectural visualisation is a natural fit: Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and AutoCAD models can be rendered through V-Ray, Enscape or Lumion, and interior scenes can go through Chaos Corona. Twinmotion and D5 Render walkthroughs and Unreal Engine 5 architectural scenes also make good use of the graphics card. Product and industrial artists can use it for KeyShot, Blender Cycles, and Cinema 4D with Octane, Redshift or Arnold.

Where does the Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation sit in the range?

Below it in the catalogue sit the AutoCAD Revit 2026 Core i7 PC (Intel Core i7-14700KF 20 core, NVIDIA RTX A1000 8GB, 32GB DDR5 and a 1TB SSD), which is aimed at CAD and BIM work, and the Intel Core Ultra 5 Radeon RX 9070 Gaming PC (Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF 14 core, Radeon RX 9070 16GB, 32GB DDR5 and a 1TB SSD). This workstation moves to a 12-core Ryzen 9, an RTX 5080 with 16GB of GDDR7 and 64GB of memory for rendering and visualisation. If your scenes need more memory or storage, the configurator lets you change the parts and see the estimated lead time before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation run V-Ray, Lumion and Enscape?

Yes, V-Ray, Lumion and Enscape all run on it, with V-Ray able to use the RTX 5080 for GPU rendering and the Ryzen 9 9900X for CPU rendering. The same hardware suits 3ds Max, Chaos Corona, D5 Render, Twinmotion, Blender, Cinema 4D, KeyShot and Unreal Engine 5. It also suits Revit with Enscape or V-Ray for Revit, and it handles hybrid CPU and GPU pipelines where both contribute to the final output.

Why does this workstation use an air cooler instead of a liquid AIO?

The Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB is a 155mm dual-tower air cooler rated at 280W, so it is built for sustained CPU rendering loads. Air cooling means there is no pump, tubing or radiator to maintain or replace over time, which suits a professional machine used daily in a studio or home office.

Is 64GB of RAM enough for V-Ray and 3ds Max scenes?

64GB of DDR5 suits a large share of architectural, interior and product scenes, including detailed textures and several applications open at once. The motherboard supports up to 256GB across four DIMM slots, two of which are free, so you can add memory if your scene complexity grows.

Can I upgrade the Professional V-Ray / 3ds Max Workstation later?

Yes. Three of the four M.2 slots and both SATA 6Gb/s ports are free, the case has mounts for 2 x 3.5″ and 2 x 2.5″ drives, and two DIMM slots are free for more memory. If you would like to discuss upgrades or a different configuration, call us on 0151 317 9860.

Who is this PC best suited for?

It is best suited to freelance visualisation artists, sole practitioners and small studio teams who need a dependable V-Ray, 3ds Max and real-time rendering workstation. It suits architectural and product visualisation work in tools such as Lumion, Enscape, Corona and KeyShot, in a professionally styled UK-built system with a 3-year warranty.

Is Windows 11 Home suitable for professional rendering work?

Yes, Windows 11 Home 64-bit (genuine, pre-installed) runs V-Ray, Lumion, Enscape, 3ds Max and the other visualisation software on this page. Windows 11 Home cannot host Remote Desktop connections, so if you need to reach the workstation remotely from another PC, ask us about Windows 11 Professional before you order.
