The Crucial BX500 240GB (part number CT240BX500SSD1) is Crucial’s entry-level SATA SSD, built by Micron with 3D NAND. Performance

Crucial rates the BX500 at up to 540MB/s sequential read and 500MB/s sequential write over SATA 6Gb/s, which is close to the ceiling of the interface. Compared with a typical hard drive that means Windows boots in seconds, applications open almost instantly and the PC stays responsive while several programs run. The drive has no moving parts, so it is silent, shock-resistant and draws very little power.

Reliability

The 240GB model is rated for 80TB total bytes written, which for a typical office or home user equates to many years of use, and Crucial covers the BX500 with a three-year limited warranty or the rated endurance, whichever comes first. Crucial’s Storage Executive software provides health monitoring and firmware updates on Windows.

Compatibility
