The Gigabyte B760 Gaming X AX DDR5 gives an ATX case a sensible mid-range Intel platform. It takes any LGA1700 processor from 12th to 14th Gen Core, Pentium Gold or Celeron, and its four DDR5 slots hold up to 256GB at speeds up to 7600 MT/s with XMP. The hybrid 8+1+1 phase digital VRM is covered by heatsinks and is comfortable with a Core i7 for gaming and everyday creative work. Punch can supply it fitted in a new build with matching memory and cooler.
Storage and expansion
Three M.2 slots, one from the CPU and two from the chipset, all run at PCIe 4.0 x4 and accept 2280 or 22110 drives, with a Thermal Guard heatsink on the primary slot. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The PCIe 4.0 x16 graphics slot is reinforced and uses Gigabyte’s EZ-Latch quick release, and two further full-length slots wired at PCIe 3.0 x1 suit sound, capture or network cards.
Connectivity
The rear panel provides a red USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB Type-C port at Gen 1 speed, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and five USB 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.1 for integrated graphics, a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port, two SMA antenna connectors and six audio jacks with S/PDIF support. Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth is pre-fitted; the exact module and Bluetooth version (5.2 or 5.3) depend on the PCB revision. Front-panel headers add a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 ports.
Cooling and control
Six fan and pump headers with Smart Fan 6 control, two addressable and two RGB LED headers, a Q-Flash Plus button for BIOS updates without a processor, a TPM header and a serial port header cover both gaming and business-style builds.
