ASUS Prime B760M-A WIFI D4 DDR4 Micro-ATX Motherboard
A sensible Micro-ATX B760 board that lets you carry DDR4 memory over to a 12th, 13th or 14th Gen Intel Core processor without giving up Wi-Fi 6 or 2.5Gb Ethernet.
The ASUS Prime B760M-A WIFI D4 is the DDR4 version of one of the most widely used mid-range Intel boards. It suits anyone building a compact gaming or office PC around an LGA1700 processor who wants to keep existing DDR4 modules, or who simply wants the lower memory cost. Four DIMM slots take up to 128GB at speeds up to 5333MHz when overclocked with XMP. Punch can supply it fitted in a new build with a matched cooler and memory.
Expansion and storage
The graphics slot is PCIe 4.0 x16 direct from the CPU, with two further full-length slots from the chipset wired at x4 and x1 for capture cards, network adapters or extra storage. Two M.2 slots both run at PCIe 4.0 x4 and accept 2242, 2260 and 2280 drives, and there are four SATA 6Gb/s ports for hard drives or older SSDs. VRM, M.2 and chipset heatsinks help keep sustained loads stable in a small case.
Connectivity
Networking is handled by a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet controller alongside Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2, so it works equally well wired or wireless. The rear panel provides two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort and two HDMI outputs for the processor’s integrated graphics, and three audio jacks from the Realtek 7.1 codec. Front-panel headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C connector and four USB 2.0 ports.
Cooling and lighting
Four 4-pin fan headers (CPU, CPU OPT and two chassis) are controlled by Fan Xpert 2+, and ASUS OptiMem II trace routing improves memory signal integrity. An addressable Gen 2 RGB header and a standard RGB header connect to Aura Sync-compatible strips and fans if you want lighting; the board itself is plain black.
