ASUS Prime B650M-R AM5 Micro-ATX DDR5 Motherboard (Open Box)
An open-box micro-ATX AM5 board with DDR5, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots and 2.5Gb Ethernet for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors.
The ASUS Prime B650M-R is a compact AM5 motherboard built around the AMD B650 chipset. It supports the full run of current AMD desktop processors from the Ryzen 7000 Series through the 9000 Series, and pairs them with DDR5 memory and PCIe 4.0 for the graphics card and storage. This unit is an open-box return that has been checked and is complete. It is a good fit for a mid-range AMD gaming or productivity PC in a micro-ATX or mid-tower case, where a dependable board with modern connectivity matters more than overclocking headroom or RGB.
Processor and memory
Two DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 96GB in dual-channel mode, with AMD EXPO profiles and ASUS listing speeds up to 7200MHz and beyond with overclocked kits. VRM and chipset heatsinks and ASUS’s hybrid fan headers with Fan Xpert 2+ keep the board and processor cooled quietly.
Expansion and storage
The PCIe 4.0 x16 slot is reinforced with ASUS SafeSlot Core and runs at full width with Ryzen 7000 and 9000 Series processors (x8 or x4 with Ryzen 8000 Series), and a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot from the chipset takes a small add-in card. Two M.2 slots accept 2242, 2260 or 2280 drives and both support PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drives, and four SATA 6Gb/s ports take hard drives and 2.5-inch SSDs.
Connectivity
Networking is a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port. The rear panel has two USB 5Gbps Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI output for processors with integrated graphics, with a Realtek 7.1-channel HD audio codec and two-way AI noise cancellation for headsets. Internally there is a front-panel USB Type-C 5Gbps connector and a USB 5Gbps header for two more ports, plus two USB 2.0 headers for four ports, three addressable Gen 2 RGB headers for Aura Sync lighting and one CPU and two chassis fan headers. Q-LED indicators and BIOS FlashBack make troubleshooting and updates straightforward. Punch can fit this board in a new build if you prefer.
