An 8-litre micro-ATX desktop chassis for space-saving office PCs, supplied without a power supply so you fit the Flex ATX unit you need.

The Avance L8B is the current revision of Punch’s Avance L8, an exceptionally small chassis measuring just 310 x 97 x 280mm (8 litres) yet still taking a standard mATX motherboard up to 244 x 244mm. It can be stood horizontally like a set-top box or vertically on its supplied feet, and an optional monitor-stand mount lets it disappear behind a screen altogether. This version is the bare chassis with two USB 2.0 ports on the front and no power supply fitted, so it suits a build where a specific Flex ATX unit is being specified or reused.

Storage and expansion

There is room for one 3.5in drive, one 2.5in drive and one slim optical drive, which covers a hard disk for bulk storage alongside an SSD for the system. Four expansion slots take low-profile cards only, so a graphics card or network card must be a half-height model. A cable cover keeps the rear tidy.

Built for the office

The screwless design makes it quick to open for servicing, and a Kensington lock loop lets it be secured to a desk in reception areas, classrooms and shared offices. No case fans are fitted and there is no room for a radiator, so cooling comes from the CPU cooler and the power supply fan, which keeps the PC quiet on a desk. Punch builds the L8B into compact business desktops with the processor, memory, storage and power supply specified to order.
