Three black Phanteks D30 fans with 30mm frames, integrated D-RGB lighting and daisy-chain cabling for a clean multi-fan install.

The D30-120 takes the thick-frame design of Phanteks’ T30 performance fan and adds addressable lighting to it. The 30mm-deep frame gives the seven blades more working depth than a conventional 25mm fan, which is how the D30 reaches 64.3 CFM and 3.01 mmH2O of static pressure at 2000 RPM, yet it drops to 250 RPM under PWM control when there is little heat to move. A triple pack covers a three-fan front intake or a 360mm radiator in one purchase, and the black frame suits the majority of cases without drawing attention to itself when the lighting is off.

Daisy-chain cabling

Each fan has a 4-pin PWM connector and a 3-pin JST D-RGB connector that pass through to the next fan, so up to four fans can share a single motherboard fan header and a single 5V ARGB header. The pack includes two D-RGB mainboard adapters, corner and bridge clips to link fans side by side, and screw covers to tidy the frame edges. Lighting is driven by the motherboard’s own software rather than a separate controller; Aura Sync, RGB Fusion 2.0, Mystic Light, Polychrome Sync and Razer Chroma are supported.

Lighting and build quality

Thirty addressable LEDs per fan illuminate the frame and blades from every side, so the fan looks right as an intake or an exhaust. A fluid dynamic bearing rated at 50,000 hours MTBF keeps it quiet over its life, and Phanteks provides a three-year warranty. Both 36mm UNC and M4 radiator screws are included for mounting to an AIO or custom radiator. Punch can fit these in a new build and set up the lighting before dispatch.
