The Contour GPX1000S5-A is a fully modular, high-efficiency ATX 3.1 power supply based on the GPX platform designed and manufactured by Channel Well Technology (CWT). Its 1000W output covers a high-end processor and a single flagship graphics card with room left for drives, fans and lighting, and it is rated for continuous operation at up to 50°C so it does not need to be derated in a warm case. It suits gaming PCs and workstations that will be upgraded over the next few years.

ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 ready

Following the ATX 3.1 specification, the unit is designed to cope with the brief power spikes that current graphics cards draw under load. It supports a single graphics card at up to 600W, either through the one 12V-2×6 connector on a single cable or through the four 8-pin PCIe connectors for cards that still use the older plugs, so no adaptors are needed either way. Three CPU connectors cover boards with dual EPS inputs, and twelve SATA connectors leave plenty for drives and accessories.

Efficiency and cooling

Efficiency is at Gold level, 87% or better and around 90% at 50% load, which keeps waste heat and running costs down. A 120mm speed-controlled fan runs at up to 1400rpm and no more than 29dBA, so the unit stays quiet at the loads a gaming PC sees most of the time.

Modular cabling

Every cable is detachable and the flat design makes routing behind the motherboard tray easy, so you connect only the leads the build needs for a tidier interior and better airflow. Punch can fit and cable it neatly in any new system we build for you.
