Thermaltake AX700 TG Super Tower Case

A super tower for workstations and servers: XL-ATX support, eighteen drive bays, eighteen fan mounts and space for five graphics cards.

The Thermaltake AX700 TG is a very large black super tower with a tempered glass side, built for content creation, AI and compute workstations rather than ordinary desktop PCs. It takes motherboards from Mini-ITX all the way up to XL-ATX and the SSI-CEB and SSI-EEB server formats, provides twelve expansion slots for up to five dual-slot graphics cards, and has bays for eighteen 3.5in or 2.5in drives plus two 5.25in devices. Punch can build a new workstation into it for customers who need this level of expansion.

Cooling

No fans are supplied, but there are mounts for up to eighteen 120mm or 140mm fans: three at the front, four in the roof, one at the rear, two in the floor and eight on the right-hand side. All-in-one liquid coolers up to 420mm fit at the front or top, and the roof accepts custom-loop radiators of 480mm to 560mm. CPU air coolers up to 190mm tall clear the side panel.

Storage and expansion

The removable hard drive cage holds twelve 3.5in or 2.5in drives and six more mount behind the motherboard tray, giving eighteen in total, with two external 5.25in bays for optical or backup drives. Twelve expansion slots (ten plus two) allow up to five two-slot graphics cards or accelerators. Graphics cards up to 360mm long fit with the drive cage in place, or up to 630mm with it removed.

Build and connectivity

The chassis is SPCC steel with a steel and tempered glass side panel, measuring 645mm long, 324.6mm wide and 685mm tall, so it is a floor-standing case. A standard PS2 (ATX) power supply up to 220mm long is supported. The I/O panel provides one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, four USB 3.0 ports and HD audio.
