The Pentium Gold G6605 is the fastest of Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake Pentium desktop processors, built on the 14nm process. It has two cores and four threads with Hyper-Threading, a fixed 4.3GHz clock speed (there is no Turbo Boost on this range) and 4MB of Intel Smart Cache. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 means it can run a display without a graphics card, which makes it a practical basis for a small office PC, a family computer, a point-of-sale or signage system, or a low-power home server.
Performance
Two cores at 4.3GHz keep web browsing, office software, email and video playback responsive, and Hyper-Threading helps when several light tasks run together. It is not intended for gaming with a dedicated card or for heavy creative work, but for everyday desktop use it is quick and efficient at a 58W TDP.
Graphics and displays
The integrated UHD Graphics 630 runs at a 350MHz base frequency and up to 1.10GHz under load, which is enough for desktop use, video playback and multiple monitors on a business PC, and it removes the need for a separate graphics card in a basic system.
Platform and compatibility
The G6605 fits the LGA1200 socket with 400 and 500 series Intel chipsets and supports dual-channel DDR4-2666 memory up to 128GB. It provides 16 lanes of PCIe 3.0. The maximum junction temperature is 100°C and the thermal solution specification is PCG 2015C, so any basic LGA1200 cooler is sufficient. Punch can fit it in a compact new build with a matching H410, H510 or B560 board.
