XPG is ADATA’s performance memory brand and the Flame series was its entry-level heatsink-equipped DDR4 line. This 16GB module gives a comfortable amount of memory for Windows, office applications, browsers with many tabs open and current games, and because it is a single stick it leaves the second slot of a dual-channel board free for a matching module later. It suits gaming PCs and general desktops on Intel and AMD platforms that support DDR4-3000.
Performance
The module runs at its rated 3000MHz once the Intel XMP 2.0 profile is enabled in the BIOS; without XMP it boots at the platform’s default JEDEC speed. On AMD Ryzen boards the same profile is read as DOCP or EXPO-style A-XMP, depending on the motherboard maker. XPG built the Flame line on a 10-layer black PCB with 2oz copper, which improves signal integrity and helps the module run stably at its rated speed.
Cooling and design
A low-profile aluminium heatsink spreads heat from the memory chips and keeps the module short enough to sit under large air coolers. The plain, unlit design suits builds that do not want RGB lighting.
Compatibility
The module is a standard 288-pin DDR4 U-DIMM and works in any desktop board with DDR4 slots. To reach 3000MHz the motherboard and processor must support that memory speed; otherwise the module runs at the highest speed the platform allows. ADATA backs XPG Flame memory with a limited lifetime warranty. Punch can fit it in a new DDR4 build or supply it as an upgrade.
