Support for Windows 10 ends on the 14th October 2025. When that support ends, Microsoft will no longer be providing:
Put simply, outdated PCs put your infrastructure at risk.
For a lot of people, you will likely be able to upgrade your existing hardware to be compatible with Windows 11. More stringent security requirements, like TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) and Secure Boot availability mean that certain, older processors are simply ruled out as a matter of course. If you need to upgrade your CPU, depending on the age of it, you may need to upgrade surrounding hardware such as your motherboard, CPU cooler or RAM. At this stage, there may be a cost benefit to simply replacing your old system with a new PC. Intel CPUs from around 8th Generation onwards should support Windows 11. Up until the recent Ultra range, you can tell the generation of your Intel CPU in the first part of the string of numbers, for example, the i3-8400 is an 8th generation CPU.
